Solid Orange in Orange Bowl

Christmas break was a roller-coaster for the ages. The first Sunday of the break my Grandfathers Wife Gladys Sue Bass passed away in Winnsboro, SC after complications following a stroke. for Christmas week my family and I spent it with my Grandfather for the funeral and mourning. After Christmas it was quite in my household, no parties and no friends over. But all of that changed. On December 30th my father and I drove down to Miami Florida to watch The College Football Semi Final between the Clemson Tigers and the Oklahoma Sooners. With my family and myself being avid Clemson supports it was natural that we would root for our Tigers as the Trounce the Sooners for the second straight year with a 37-17 victory and a birth the College Football National Championship against Alabama. The Drive up was also interesting, we remember two night before a white Honda Pilot with Texas plates drive past us with Oklahoma out of the windows battling 90 mph winds to do the iconic "O-U" hand signal, but we saw the very same SUV in the parking lot of a Turnpike Rest stop with all of the Oklahoma magnets and flags taken down, we ensued to walk in to see the fans with a gloom expression on their faces, we walked and talk tot them about the two teams and expressed our cheerfulness and explained that their actions on that night cheered us up and made us have to slow down our speed to compensate for our excessive laughing, following a 45 minute conversation we shook hands and headed our separate ways knowing we made their day as they did ours. Once we got home our daily lives went back to normal my dad and I went to work, my sister went to cheer practice, and my mother stayed home and cleaned. This year i decided tot do away new years resolutions knowing i would just break them.
Warmth of Christmas

Over Christmas break, I visited my family in Florida, where we enjoyed the beach, seafood restaurants, and 80-degree weather. We all stayed in a hotel on the beach in Saint Petersburg, and our room had the perfect view of the ocean. My cousins and I would hang out at the beach all day, and at night we would stay in the hotel room and watch movies. I tried many new foods and cuisines at all of the restaurants we visited, and swam in the ocean and the hotel pool a lot more than I would have in Georgia.
After we returned to Georgia, my nights had mostly consisted of staying up late and catching up with my favorite TV shows on Netflix. The rest of my Christmas break was pretty uneventful, but at least I was getting a break from waking up early and stressing over tests and homework.

My New Year’s Resolutions
- I want to perform better in school this semester by managing my time, keeping myself organized, and not waiting until the last minute to get assignments done.
- I would also like to exercise more now that soccer season is starting. This will also get me prepared for summer cross country training, and it will also allow me to be healthier in the future.
- I would like to go to sleep at an earlier time so I won’t be as tired and sluggish in the morning. By going to sleep earlier, I will be more productive, and I will perform better during school.
Family Matters

This Christmas was one of the most wonderful Christmas's I have ever spent with my family. My entire family had gathered together in Dandridge Tennessee and we had a blast. I met so many people that i haven't seen in years and many people that I had never met in my life but were somehow related by a new marriage in the family on my grandmas side. My grandpa and I climbed hills in the four wheeler with my grandpa. Grandma and I had fed the chickens everyday till they attacked me. You can believe i was finished feeding the chickens. I went exploring the property with my little cousins nick, and Chelsea and we saw 6 deer in a field down past the first hill. The entire experience was so amazing. My family doesn't really get together except for special occasions, but I will never forget how much fun we had this year. It was the first Christmas in years where it actually felt like Christmas and i am so blessed for that. New years this year was also exciting i went to the Peach Drop in Atlanta and watched it with approximately 100,000 other people. I made a new years resolution to work harder on my studies and workout more. Hopefully i will stick to these goals.
